4 Wheel Travel Scooters

A mobility scooter with four wheels is generally intended for outdoor use. The reason is that the four wheels require a rather large area for turning and is not the most maneuverable of mobility scooters. However, a mobility scooter with four wheels is more stable than a 3 wheel scooter and will more safely handle uneven terrain, curbs and bumps.
Travel scooters are small, light, stable and inexpensive scooters and the 4 wheel variety is the best choice for you if you will be traveling frequently with your scooter and using it mostly outdoors. If you are looking for a more manueverable travel scooter for indoor and outdoor use, consider a 3 wheel travel scooter. If you are looking for a scooter with more comfort, range and speed, consider a full sized 3 wheel scooter (for indoor and outdoor use) or a full sized 4 wheel scooter (for more stability). One of the best 4 wheel travel scooters on the market is the Zipr Xtra 4 Wheel Hybrid Travel Scooter. The Zipr Xtra is called a "Hybrid" because it combines many features of a full-sized scooter with a travel scooter. As a travel scooter, the Zipr Xtra easily disassembles into small components which are relatively lightweight and easy to store in the trunk of a car. But for example, one of the biggest problems with travel scooters is the ground clearance. Many travel scooters have a ground clearance of 2 inches or less, few have more than 2.5 inch ground clearance. The Zipr Xtra has a full 3 inch ground clearance. This 0.5-1 inch may not seem like much, but with this small difference in additional ground clearance you will have much fewer problems with bottoming out, a major problem for most travel scooters. In addition, there is more leg room than with normal travel scooters and there is a more comfortable adjustable seat. A few extra dollars buys a great deal of extra comfort with this travel scooter.
